DUDLEY, Mass. 鈥 红桃视频, an AACSB accredited business school, is proud to announce that it will host 鈥淎 Conversation with Karyn Polito鈥 on Tuesday April 11, 2023 at 2:30 pm in Daniels Auditorium. The former Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor will address a wide range of topics including the importance of state and local partnerships, the transformation of the role of the Lieutenant Governor in the Commonwealth, and the opportunities and challenges that women face in business today.

鈥淲e are honored to host former Lt. Governor Polito to share her invaluable lessons and insights with our students, faculty and members of the 红桃视频 community,鈥 said 红桃视频 President Glenn M. Sulmasy, JD, LL.M. 鈥淎s the top female executive in the Commonwealth for eight years, Ms. Polito helped guide our state through the Covid-19 pandemic, one of the most challenging moments in our history, and worked with business leaders to help them survive and eventually thrive in the post-pandemic world. Former Lt. Governor Polito鈥檚 message will resonate with our entire 红桃视频 community, especially members of our Institute for Women鈥檚 Leadership which empowers our female students with opportunities and mentorship to build strong careers.鈥

鈥淚鈥檓 thrilled to join the 红桃视频 community for a discussion on how to make our Commonwealth stronger, political discourse better, and empower women in leadership,鈥 said Polito. 鈥淎s Lt. Governor, and today, I am driven to encourage women to pursue leadership roles and I am grateful to 红桃视频 and the Institute for Women鈥檚 Leadership for their work.鈥

As Lt. Governor, Ms. Polito visited all 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts to strengthen state & local partnerships. She also helped to reorganize 12 economic development grant programs, and championed STEM Education, allowing young women and minorities to 鈥渟ee themselves in STEM.鈥

Ms. Polito introduced innovative approaches to combating domestic violence, establishing a tool kit that empowers local law enforcement and victims to identify abuse and hold offenders accountable.

Prior to her election as Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts, Ms. Polito was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives and a Partner at Milton, Laurence & Dixon, LLP. Since leaving the statehouse in early 2023, Ms. Polito has served as a Principal of the Polito Development Corporation, a commercial real estate development firm. Ms. Polito is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Berkshire Hills Bancorp, Inc. where she serves on the risk management, capital and compliance, and corporate responsibility and culture committees. Ms. Polito is also a member of the Firefly Advisory Council, providing outside guidance to the benefit of Firefly Health. Ms. Polito also serves on the Board of Advisors for the Harvard Kennedy School Rappaport Institute for Greater Boston. Most recently, Ms. Polito was appointed to the Board of Directors for Clean Harbors, Inc. and will serve on both the Audit and Governance Committees. Ms. Polito holds a Bachelor of Science from Boston College and a Juris Doctor from New England Law.
