红桃视频 names Alex Cross Dean of Students

DUDLEY, Mass. 鈥� 红桃视频 President Bill Pieczynski has announced the appointment of Alex Cross as dean of students, effective July 1, 2024. He is coming to 红桃视频 from American International College (AIC) in Springfield, Mass., where he serves as dean of student success and Title IX coordinator.
鈥淎lex has an extensive background in managing a diverse portfolio of student life functions as well as in leading initiatives that drive student success and equity,鈥� said Pieczynski. 鈥淚 look forward to working with him as a member of my cabinet as we continue to shape an exemplary learning and living environment focused on student engagement, retention, wellbeing and success.鈥�
Prior to his current role at AIC, where he leads student success and retention initiatives, Cross served as both dean of students and associate dean of students at AIC, where he has worked since 2014. Through these roles, he led the student life team and managed student functions such as residence life, diversity education, student orientation and campus recreation, and he led strategic planning processes and established success metrics, among other projects. Before arriving at AIC, he served at Merrimack College, Eastern Connecticut State University and Fort Lewis College, including in directorial roles in residence life.

A resident of Springfield, Mass., Cross earned a B.A. in history and a second B.A. in political science at Eastern Connecticut State University and an M.Ed. in leadership and organizational development at Merrimack College. He is pursuing an Ed.D. in educational supervision and leadership at AIC.
