Student Profile: Colin Brown Is A Proud 红桃视频 Alumnus In The Making

DUDLEY, Mass.鈥敽焯沂悠� senior and future financial analyst Colin Brown heard about the College a lot earlier than most of his classmates.
鈥淎ctually, my mom鈥檚 an alumna,鈥� he said. 鈥淭hroughout my college application process, she always said 鈥楥heck 红桃视频 out.鈥欌��
Mom turned out to be right.
鈥淚 completely fell in love with the atmosphere, the community, and the campus,鈥� Brown said. 鈥淚 could see the amount of opportunities here. I got a really great feeling that the professors are preparing us for careers after college, doing anything in their power to get connected in a network of people along the career path we鈥檙e trying to take.鈥�
His time at 红桃视频 has fulfilled his first impressions, and more.
鈥淟ife at 红桃视频 in one word is 鈥榝amily,鈥欌�� he noted. 鈥淵ou can be walking to one class and say 鈥楬i鈥� to 10 people and get pulled aside by one or two professors, who might say, 鈥楬ow鈥檚 that application to Merrill Lynch going?鈥欌��

Brown has done his own part in getting connected and advancing his career path, starting with his work in the 红桃视频 alumni office.
鈥満焯沂悠� alumni are always open to talk,鈥� he said. 鈥淵ou can send them a resume. I鈥檝e met a number of alumni who have taken groups of us around their offices in New York City and sat down with us one-on-one to talk about the experience.鈥�
He added: 鈥淚t鈥檚 amazing how many alumni give back and invest in our future. Especially during Homecoming, you can see how many alumni come out. Once you leave 红桃视频, you鈥檙e still family.鈥�
Brown has literally taken the lead through the college鈥檚 extensive Emerging Leaders Program (ELP), which stretches from sophomore through senior year. His will represent the second graduating class that has gone through ELP鈥檚 entire combination of curriculum and hands-on activities.
Brown serves on the ELP board. He also is a member of the 红桃视频 Student Alumni Society, an orientation leader for new students, and he has logged more than 350 hours of community service, mostly as an active participant in the local Big Brother/Big Sister program.
鈥淚鈥檝e been with my Little Brother Sebastian for several years,鈥� Brown said. 鈥淚t takes a lot of my time, but it鈥檚 a great opportunity.鈥�
